Women's Volleyball CU Athletics

Lady Tiger volleyball set to host Thomas More and travel to Shawnee State Thursday and Saturday

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – After two weeks away from competition due to the wintery weather, the Campbellsville University women's volleyball team invites Thomas More into Gosser Gymnasium on Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET. CU then turns around and travels to Shawnee State on Saturday with first serve scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.

The match on Thursday night will only be the second time CU has played at home this season, the first being an exhibition against Saint Mary of the Woods College in September.

This Thursday contest will air online on the CU Sports Network as Zach Clements will be on the call. This matchup will be available at www.campbellsvilletigers.com/watch and on streaming apps - Roku, Amazon FireStick, and Apple TV - by searching CU Sports Network.

Saturday's match will be aired on Shawnee SportsNet with links found on the Lady Tiger schedule page.

Lady Tiger Notes:
  • Campbellsville has hit a stride winning four straight contests. Three of these were against Mid-South Conference competition in University of the Cumberlands, Shawnee State University, and Cumberland University.
  • After their last contest, Sutton Mason was named the conference Attacker of the Week and Katie Morin was the Defender of the Week as they each led the Lady Tigers in their respective specialized statistics at Asbury. Paige Merrick earned her second-straight NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week honor as well.
  • Campbellsville mixes up the offense with a number of different attackers. Sutton Mason leads CU with 64 kills, while Sonia Flendrich, Sophie Ball, Hannah McGill, Taylor Weirich, and Stela Velinova, all have over 30 kills apiece.
Scouting Thomas More:
  • The Saints did not get to play at all in the Fall semester. They have competed in four matches this spring, going 2-2 overall and 1-1 inside MSC play.
  • Thomas More has picked up two sweep victories over Indiana Tech and Cumberland University. Both of those matches were in Crestview Hills, Ky.
  • Emily Mohs and Sawyer Lorentz have a combined 64 of the teams' 134 kills. Mohs leads the offense with 40. Mohs is also leading the team in Kills per Game, Service Aces, and total points.

Scouting Shawnee State:
  • The Bears enter the week with a 1-3 record as they travel to Georgetown on Thursday before hosting Campbellsville on Saturday.
  • Shawnee State lost to Georgetown, Cumberland and Campbellsville in the Mid-South Conference Pod in late January.
  • The match on Thursday night against Georgetown will be their first game since Jan. 30.
  • The Bears are led in kills by Macie Rhoads with 70 kills and a .275 attacking percentage. She finished with 26 kills in the Bears' lone win over University of the Cumberlands.
