Tigers drop double overtime thriller 2-1 to Lindsey Wilson

The Battle of Highway 55 lived up to the hype. A double overtime game ended on the foot of Ezequiel Hernandez when he scored for the Blue Raiders in the 103rd -minute. The Tigers and Blue Raiders traded blows on the pitch all evening long.

In the first half, Lindsey Wilson was in sole possession to start out the bout. They had three corner opportunities and led the shot category 3-1. All of the momentum changed the minute Rainer De Jesus picked up a straight red card in the 30th minute as Lindsey Wilson would play the rest of the contest a man down.

Lindsey Wilson countered on a Campbellsville attack and Alexander Koziolek would find the back of net in the 65th-minute. Scoring a man down in any situation is brilliant work.

Campbellsville finally got their offense working in the 73-minute. Kalvin Semedo got taken just right outside of the box. This would have Campbellsville with a free kick 20 yards out. Tom Edge would send a dangerous low ball into the box, that ended up in the back of the net.

CU smelled blood in the water, as they tallied eight shots in the last 15 minutes of the contes, none being the go-ahead goal.

This match would end in double overtime fashion, when Ezequiel Hernandez sent a bender back post for Lindsey Wilson in the 103rd minute. The Blue Raiders would outshoot the Tigers 19-15.

Campbellsville gets back in action with a road trip to Portsmouth, Ohio to meet up with the bears. Shawnee and Campbellsville meet on Tuesday, March 7th with the time is to be announced.
