Lady Tigers use round trippers to run rule Martin Methodist in Thursday doubleheader

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PULASKI, Tenn. — Lady Tiger softball tallied 25 hits in two games and allowed only nine hits in the pitching circle to sweep the doubleheader against Martin Methodist on Thursday evening.

The Lady Tigers won game one 14-4 and 13-0 in game two to even their record at 5-5 overall and 2-0 inside the Mid-South Conference.

Offensively, the Lady Tigers were led by Mia Aldridge's four hits and seven RBI – which matches a career-high in RBI for a doubleheader as she tallied seven against University of Pikeville on March 22, 2018.

The Lady Tigers smacked three home runs in game one of the doubleheader – Keely Bowling, Riley Hurst and Ryley Whitney. It was Bowling's first-career homer, the first of the season for Hurst and the second of the season for Whitney.

Hurst, who has moved to the leadoff spot, went 3-for-7 with three RBI. Tori Humphrey was 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBI and scoring five runs. Whitney also tallied three hits with four RBI and scoring three runs.

Ryleigh Oldham and Keely Bowling also finished with three RBI in game one.

In the circle in game one, Payton Blades went four innings allowing four hits and two earned runs. Courtney Patterson pitched a flawless fifth inning for CU to win via the run rule.

In game two, it was Karson Williams allowing four hits and striking out four through four innings. Patterson also came into relief tossing the fifth inning and allowing one hit.

The Lady Tigers and RedHawks were forced to postpone the games on Friday afternoon due to weather in Pulaski, Tenn. CU now has a week to prepare for a home series against Freed-Hardeman University on Friday and Saturday.
