Lady Tigers run away with 81-57 MSC semifinal win over Lindsey Wilson

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Looking for a return trip to the Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship after an early exit last season, the Campbellsville University women's basketball team left no doubt in their 81-57 win over Lindsey Wilson in the semifinals on Monday afternoon.

The Lady Tigers and Blue Raiders traded punches throughout most of the first half before a second quarter ending 10-2 run gave CU a 12-point lead at 40-28 heading into the second half.

It was all Courtney Pritchett in the first half as the redshirt sophomore forward scored 16 points in the opening 20 minutes. Those 16 points already gave Pritchett a season-high in points as she became an offensive focal point after seniors Sammy Rogers and Savannah Gregory had to exit with early foul trouble, both picking up two in the first half.

Pritchett finished with a game-high 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting and a career-high 4-for-5 shooting from three-point range. The rest of the starting lineup spread the ball around as Madison Sheppard, Bailey Pedigo, and Gregory all added seven points with Rogers having a rare off day with only four points in the game.

In the second half, Campbellsville kept pulling away from Lindsey Wilson, outscoring the Blue Raiders 18-7 in the third quarter as this time it was sophomore Sarah Sutton who proved to have the hot hand.

Sutton scored 11 of her 16 points in the game in the second half with eight points in the third quarter and adding one of her four three-point field goals in the fourth quarter. She made the exact same amount of shots from the field and from three-point range as Pritchett with Pritchett's advantage coming at the free-throw line.

Sutton led a bench unit that included six points from Ashlee McGeorge, five from both Lauren Lee and Maddy Boyle, three from Lexy Lake, and two from Faith Lake.

For the second-straight game, minutes were spread out pretty evenly for head coach Ginger High Colvin's squad as no player saw more time on the floor than the team-leading 23 minutes from Pritchett.

Lindsey Wilson got double digit performances from Reagan Turner (14) and Sydnie Hall (12) as the Blue Raiders struggled with ball security, turning the ball over 20 times in the game, leading to 24 CU points.

Up next for the Lady Tigers will be the ultimate revenge game opportunity as they will face the team with the last two wins against them, including in last season's MSC Tournament in No. 1 seed and NAIA No. 1 Thomas More.

Tuesday night's championship game will tip off at 6 p.m. ET/ 5p.m. CT at Bowling Green Arena.
