Lady Tigers have five wrestlers competing for NAIA Championships tonight; CU has team title in hand

JAMESTOWN, N.D. — A Campbellsville University record five Lady Tigers are wrestling tonight for a chance at a NAIA Championship while the team title is very much in hand as the first NAIA Championship red banner will be coming back to Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Alexandra Castillo (170), Randi Robison (136), Angie Vitiritti (130), Charlotte Fowler (116) and McKayla Campbell (109) are all still alive for tonights finals that will begin at 8 p.m. ET.

The finals air on Flo Wrestling with a paid subscription for $12.50/monthly or $160/year.

In addition to the five Lady Tigers still competing tonight, Campbellsville had a record 10 wrestlers place in the Top 4. Brianna Staebler and Jacqueline Ghent both finished fourth at 191 pounds and 123 pounds, respectfully. Emma Walker (143), Katlyn Pizzo (123) and Kendra Thompson (155) all finished third earlier on Saturday.

The 10 NAIA All-Americans is a new CU record.

As a team, Campbellsville has 184 team points and Life University is behind with 131 points and only three wrestlers in the finals.

In 2019, Menlo College claimed the inaugural NAIA Women's Wrestling Invitational Championship with 230.5 points. CU has a chance to match that later tonight as Menlo finished with five national champions in the NAIA's first season.

In addition to the individual and team titles, Campbellsville University's Lee Miracle was named the NWCA NAIA Women's Wrestling Coach of the Year. A complete story will be released after the finals on Saturday night.
