Tigers allow four-straight goals to fall 4-2 to Cumberland University

LEBANON, Tenn. – Two first half goals weren't enough for the Campbellsville University men's soccer team as they dropped a 4-2 result against Cumberland University on the road Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers led 2-0 nearly 15 minutes into the game after Eleder Goicoechea and Gustav Oskarsson scored in the 3rd and 15th minute respectively to give Campbellsville the start they were looking for.

They held that lead until the 42nd minute when Thomas Groenhilder scored on a penalty kick to cut the Campbellsville lead in half at 2-1 going into the between periods break.

The second half was more in favor of the Phoenix as they outshot Campbellsville 7-4 and scored three goals in the final 45 minutes as Bakary Bagayoko (66'), Brandon Gonzalez (72'), and Groenhilder (75') were able to fire shots past Tiger goalkeeper Jeremi Campagnolo.

A pair of yellow cards were handed out in the game as Campbellsville's Sebastiano Musu was booked in the 31st minute and Cumberland's Daniel Picken received a yellow in the 63rd minute.

Campbellsville will get back on the road this Tuesday when they travel to Pulaski, Tenn. for an 8:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. CT scheduled kickoff time against Martin Methodist.
