CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The first of three-straight home matches for the Campbellsville University women's volleyball team couldn't have started out much better as the Lady Tigers earned a 3-0 sweep win over University of the Cumberlands.
All three sets were won by eight or more points as CU earned 25-17, 25-13, and 25-16 set wins for the sweep over the Patriots.
Attacking efficiency was the name of the game for Campbellsville as they hit for a .288 hitting percentage as a team compared to just .093 for Cumberlands as CU outscored UC 44-26 in kills for the match.
Outside hitters
Sonia Flendrich and

Ana Martin Barahona finishing with 10 digs.
Sutton Mason even added 10 digs, mainly playing on the front row as the redshirt sophomore also finished with six kills in the match.
Middle blockers
Stela Velinova and
Taylor Weirich combined on a strong night up front as Velinova had seven kills and Weirich added five.
For the Patriots, Lily Chapman led all players with 14 kills but struggled in the passing game finishing with six reception errors as the Lady Tigers had 13 aces in the match.
In the third set, CU went on a big run that ended up being 11-0 to take the set score from a 4-3 Cumberlands lead to a 14-4 Campbellsville advantage. That was the largest Lady Tiger run in the match as they also had a 5-0 run in the second set and a 6-0 run in the opening set.
Campbellsville will have two more matches at home coming up as they will host Pikeville on Saturday followed by the regular season home finale against Georgetown College next Monday night.
