CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Earning their second-straight 3-0 victory at home, the Campbellsville University women's volleyball team made easy work of University of Pikeville with a sweep win on Saturday afternoon.
Following a huge 25-6 first set win, the Lady Tigers attempted to mix up different lineup combinations on their way to closer sets two and three winning those 25-18 and 25-21. In the second, CU trailed 17-10 before going on a 15-1 run to finish the set including a 12-0 run to close out the 25-18 set win.
Setter
Paige Merrick was on top of her game in the match finishing with 27 assists and 11 digs for a double-double but also added seven kills, good for second on the team with a .538 hitting percentage playing very aggressively on her front row rotations.
Sophie Ball had a match-high nine kills in her first match back after missing two due to injury as she added seven digs and hit for a .192 hitting percentage. Outside of Merrick and Ball, seven other Lady Tigers finished with multiple kills that includes

Pikeville struggled on the attack with just 26 kills on 121 attempts and 16 errors for their .083 team hitting percentage through the three sets. Middle blockers Oksana Vucetic and Erin Ende had strong matches despite the lack of team success as they combined for 13 kills on 38 attacks and only four total errors.
Campbellsville women's volleyball has one more home match remaining coming up next Monday when they host Georgetown College before they finish the season on the road at Cumberland University and Lindsey Wilson College next Thursday and Saturday respectively.
