Lady Tigers set to host home MSC series against Freed-Hardeman

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – After their first home games of the season, the Campbellsville University softball team will host their first home Mid-South Conference series of 2021 this Friday and Saturday when they welcome Freed-Hardeman to Hord Softball Field.

The Lady Tigers and Lions will square off for four games, two on Friday and two on Saturday with the doubleheader on Friday beginning at 2 p.m. ET with Saturday's twin bill starting at 12 p.m. ET.

All four games will air on the CU Sports Network online at www.campbellsvilletigers.com/watch as only home fans are permitted to attend the games but must wear a mask and social distance within family units.

LADY TIGER NOTES
  • Campbellsville played their first games at Hord Field this past Tuesday in a doubleheader against Asbury University with 2-0 and 4-0 wins.
  • In game one, pitcher Katy Chadwell etched her name in record books as she struck out 15 batters in her complete game shutout - which is two away from tying the all-time record.
  • Game two was a combined shutout effort from Karson Williams and Courtney Patterson as the tandem only allowed two hits in the entire game.
  • Offensively over the two games, five of the six runs were driven in by different players as Tori Humphrey and Hannah Judd drove in runs in game one with Ryley Whitney, Lexi Miller, and Payton Blades driving in runs in game two as Miller's RBI was a solo home run.

SCOUTING FREED-HARDEMAN
  • The Lions are 8-2 overall on the year with a 2-0 record in their first Mid-South Conference games since joining the conference this season.
  • They're currently on a five-game winning streak that includes a pair of wins over Georgetown College last weekend.
  • FHU is led in the circle by Brittany Adair as she leads the team in innings pitched with 28 to a 0.50 ERA in four complete games to a 4-0 record with 30 strikeouts.
  • At the plate, five players with five or more starts are hitting over .300 led by the .500 batting average from Morgan Crawford with Kennedy Harris leading the team with nine RBIs at her .433 average.

LOOKING AHEAD
  • After this series, the Lady Tigers will remain home for a midweek doubleheader against Brescia University on Wednesday before hitting the road to face Bethel University next weekend.
