Tigers get walked-off by Bethel in 1-0 loss

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Returning to action after last week's season-opening series, the Campbellsville University baseball team dropped a 1-0 heartbreaker to Bethel University Friday night.

A solo homerun ended a pitching duel between the Tigers and Wildcats as both starting pitchers took shutouts into the eighth with CU starter Aaron Hutchinson going into the ninth with his shutout.

The tie was broken by Nicholas Proto as he led off the ninth with a solo shot to dead center to earn a win for Bethel.

CU was led by Colton Titus picking up two of Campbellsville's 5 hits. Dutton Elske, Jaylin Turner, and Tyler Cox would all pick up a base knock.

Campbellsville would get six runners on base but were unable to plate any runs.
