GEORGETOWN, Ky. – Moving their newly started winning streak to two matches, the Campbellsville University men's volleyball team earned a 3-1 win over Georgetown College Friday night on the road.
The Tigers only dropped the first set then went on the win the next three by set scores of 22-25, 25-19, 25-22, and 25-20. Campbellsville was generally more efficient in the match finishing with a .341 hitting percentage compared to Georgetown's still solid .272.
The ball was spread around pretty evenly with
Rafael Cruz finishing with the team high in kills with 13 and team high in total attacks with 21.
Ramon Matos finished 11-for-18 with
Ho Yin Leung and
Isaac Paches adding eight each,
Noah Henkel providing six kills, and
Ryan Smith adding three.
Smith also had 17 assists as the front row setter for CU with fellow setter adding 22 from the back row for the team's 44 total assists.
Jay Montalvo finished with a match-high 15 digs playing libero for the Tigers as no other player in the entire match finished with more than six.
Georgetown's Krxysztof Kowalski finished with the match high with 15 kills as Liam Morrissey also added 10 for the Tigers on the other side. Setter Kacper Dobrowolski finished with 35 assists for Georgetown and led their team with six digs in the match.
Campbellsville has a quick turnaround for a home match Saturday night against Midway University at 7 p.m. ET at Gosser Gymnasium.
