Men's soccer plays third OT game in last four; draws with Georgetown College 2-2

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — A hard fought match against Georgetown College ended in a 2-2 draw as Campbellsville University played its third overtime game against its last four opponents.

The Tigers (8-2-2, 3-1-2) have some tired legs but that didn't stop CU from taking a 1-0 lead in the second minute. Sebastiano Musu served a corner into the box and Boye was there to finish for his second goal of the year.

The nip-and-tuck match went back and forth with a total of 25 fouls being called throughout the 110 minutes. Georgetown evened the match in the 35th minute as Lucas Cadiz scored his first goal of the year.

Entering halftime, the score was even at 1-1 but it didn't take long for Georgetown to take a 2-1 advantage. Nicolas Huidobro made a run down the right sideline and sent a missile past Jeremi Campagnolo upper left – also his first goal of the year.

Just three minutes later, Campbellsville evened the score once more. Eleder Goicoechea was fouled inside the box that setup a PK in the 62nd minute. It was his fourth goal of the year.

Both teams had multiple changes in the final 50 minutes of regulation and overtime. But neither was able to capitalize down the stretch.

Campbellsville currently sits in fourth place in the Mid-South Conference standings with a few more weeks to go. The Tigers host Bethel University (4-0, 3-0 MSC) on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
