Lopez, Escobar, Rhodenbaugh, and Crewe-Brown earn NAIA All-American honors for 2020-21

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Campbellsville University men's and women's swimming programs had four total individuals named NAIA All-American Thursday afternoon as Ian Lopez and Sebastian Escobar earned the honor on the men's side with Hannah Rhodenbaugh and Lizandri Crewe-Brown receiving All-American on the women's side.

All-Americans were selected in the NAIA based off of their qualifying times during their regular season and conference championship competitions. These selections were made in part due to the cancelation of the NAIA Championship event that was set for Mar. 3-6.

Escobar, a sophomore from Cali, Colombia, qualified in the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle, 1650 freestyle, and 400 individual medley to earn his place on the All-American team.

Lopez, a freshman also from Cali, Colombia, was able to qualify in the shorter freestyle races, earning All-America status for his times in the 50 and 100 freestyle.

Both Escobar and Lopez earned Mid-South Conference Swimmer of the Week honors for times put up during the regular season. Escobar was able to win the 1,650-yard freestyle at the MSC Championships as Lopez's best finish was a seventh place in the 100-yard freestyle.

Crewe-Brown, a junior from Graaff Reinet, South Africa, earned qualifying times in the 100 and 200 backstroke, collecting her first All-American honors.

Rhodenbaugh, a sophomore from Lebanon, Ohio, also qualified in the 200 backstroke to make her first All-American selection as well.

Both Crewe-Brown and Rhodenbaugh scored points for the Lady Tigers at the MSC Championships in the 200-backstroke as they finished ninth and 10th respectively.
