BOWLING GREEN, KY – The Tigers were able to cruise through their first round match against Midway Thursday afternoon in straight sets.
Midway was able to keep the match close in the first set. Campbellsville was able to pull away and win the match in straight sets (25-19, 25-21, 25-18).
Campbellsville was led by the combined efforts of
Rafael Cruz and
Ho Yin Leung with 10 kills a piece. Leung was able to led the team with a hitting percentage of .533 while Cruz was at .438.
The Tigers had 33 assists off of 35 kills in the match.
Jason Camacho and
Jeremy Hernandez were able to combine for 29 of the 33 assists in the match. Camacho led the way with 15 assists while Hernandez had 14.
Midway was unable to get past Campbellsville's defense when they held the Eagles to only .119 hitting percentage the entire match. The Tigers were able to come away with a .240 hitting percentage.
Jay Montalvo led the match with 10 digs.
Campbellsville will face Webber International Friday April 9
th for a 5 PM first serve in the semi-finals. The winner of that match will advance to Saturday's championship match.
