Tigers shutout Boyce College in home opener 10-0

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – In their home opener of the 2021 season, the Campbellsville University men's soccer team shutout Boyce College while scoring double-digit goals for a final of 10-0.

The Tigers dominated possession of the ball and kept the Bulldogs defense under immense pressure the entire match. The Tigers shared the wealth in their scoring: eight different Campbellsville players hit the back of the net. Gustav Oskarsson, Sebastiano Musu, Rasmus Obling, Guillermo Ferreiro (two), Tom Edge, Diego Chainho, Antonio Quinta (two), and Sergio Tarrida all recorded goals.

Two of the 10 goals scored were assisted. Senior midfielder Eleder Goicoechea zipped a pass to Gustav Oskarsson for the first goal of the night in the fourth minute. In the second half, Guillermo Ferreiro connected with freshman Diego Chainho from a corner kick. In perhaps the most sensational goals of the night, midfielder Antonio Quinta scored directly from two separate corner kicks.

Jeremi Campagnolo started at goalie for the Tigers, played 69 minutes, and recorded two saves. Kevin Zamora subbed-in and finished the game with a save himself. Will Pollard, the Boyce College goalkeeper, managed eight saves on the night.

Campbellsville men's soccer will hit the field again next Saturday September 4 at Finley Stadium at 8 p.m. ET as they host Saint Xavier University.
