CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY – Campbellsville earn win over Bethel on Saturday afternoon after back-to-back days of racing come to a close.
Tigers began their weekend down Highway 55 to face Lindsey Wilson and Asbury University Friday night. Campbellsville earned fourth overall in the 200-yard medley relay in 2:04.12 with
Ellie Eisses,
Leah Zimmerman,
Sarah Wortham, and
Chloe Little on the relay.
Taryn Harper placed fifth overall in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 12:05.61. Wortham was able to pull a top five finish in the 50-yard freestyle touching the wall in 26.89. Wortham earned another fifth place finish the 100-yard butterfly at 1:06.24.
Charlotte Strull found her way into a top five finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.64 placing fifth. Eisses was fifth in the 100-yard backstroke Friday evening in 1:08.86. Strull swam her way up the finishers ladder to fourth overall in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:46.04.
Finishing out Friday evening, Campbellsville placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Harper, Eisses, Strull, and
Maggie Gibson were able to hit the wall in 1:50.44.
On Saturday, Campbellsville came home to their home pool and put on a performance in front of Shawnee State and Bethel. In the 200-meter medley relay the Tigers started out with a runner-up finish with a time of 2:18.85 with Eisses, Gibson, Wortham, and
Chloe Little on the relay.
Harper earned the first win of the day in the 800-meter freestyle with her time of 10:43.86 which was 40 seconds ahead of her competition.
Anna Lewis followed suit in the next event of the 200-meter freestyle edging out her competition by .32 seconds with her time of 41.33.
Eisses saw herself in the runner-up position in the 100-meter backstroke at 1:15.72. Little finished second in the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:25.84.
Wortham joined Harper and Lewis in the winners podium when she won the 200-meter butterfly with a time of 2:56.02. Strull was the next Tiger to earn a win on the day. Strull won the 200-meter backstroke with her time of 2:36.40.
Strull and Gibson went 1-2 in the 100-meter butterfly. Strull won the event in 1:13.11 while Gibson was runner-up in 1:14.13.
In her final event of the day, Strull finish out with a school record in the 400-meter IM with a winning time of 5:40.44. Campbellsville narrowly missed the win in the 200-meter medley relay when they touched the wall in 2:00.52 while Shawnee State was first with a time of 1:58.74.
Campbellsville will have a weekend off before returning to the pool when they travel down the road to Lindsey Wilson College to face the Blue Raiders and Union College.
