COLUMBIA, KY – Tigers close out the busy day in Columbia Saturday afternoon with a 179-37 win over Union College and fall 185-72 to Lindsey Wilson College.
Campbellsville started out the meet with a bronze medal finish in the 200-yard medley relay.
Llewellyn Crewe-Brown,
Gavin Johnson,
Sebastian Escobar, and
Luis Castro were able to touch the wall in 1:44.82.
Escobar earned the first win of the day for the Tiger. The senior won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:47.01, narrowly beating out Lindsey Wilson's Reece Kincaid. Crewe-Brown found himself in another third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke. He was able to touch the wall in 57.61, only 1.36 seconds behind second place.
Lucca Motta was the next Tiger to earn a podium spot on the day. In the 50-yard freestyle, Motta swam the event in 23.39. Castro earned the silver in the 200-yard backstroke with his time of 2:04.58. Johnson found himself on the individual podium in the 200-yard breaststroke. Gavin was able to come to the finish in 2:39.24.
Escobar earned his second win of the day in the 500-yard freestyle. He was 19.74 seconds ahead of his competition coming in at the wall at 4:52.31 while second place's Daniel Wytwer touched the wall in 5:12.05.
Crewe-Brown had his second bronze individual finish of the afternoon in the 100-yard butterfly with his time of 56.84.
Campbellsville closed out the day in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a runner-up finish. Escobar, Crewe-Brown, Motta, and Castro were less than three seconds behind the Blue Raiders with a time of 1:31.32.
The Tigers will now have next weekend off before returning to action on the road when they travel to the Igloo Invitational in Sewanee, TN.
