CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – On Senior Night at Finley Stadium, the Tigers took on the rival Tigers of Georgetown College. Campbellsville put on a defensive show, limiting Georgetown to one shot total and shutting them out, 3-0.
The Campbellsville Tigers were overruling the opposing Tigers early and often. Campbellsville struck first, putting one away in the 29
th minute with a penalty kick from
Malte Ekman just underneath the rival Tiger's goalkeeper's diving, outstretched hands. In the first half alone, Campbellsville had 12 shots with seven on goal while holding Georgetown to just a single shot.
Following their performance in the first half, Campbellsville kept their offensive momentum going with a goal at the 49
th minute by Ekman from
Nicolo Lanari, earning Ekman his brace. Chaos took place in the rival Tigers' box as Campbellsville kept pressuring them. The chaos consisted of rapid-fire shots from
Nathan Schmidli and Ekman but to no avail. Then, in the final minute,
Mihlali Blesi put one away to give Campbellsville the 3-0 win.
The Tigers head into the Mid-South Conference Tournament as the 5th seed. They will play the at Bethel University on Saturday, November 4th at 3 p.m. ET.
