KINGSPORT, TN – After the first day of competition, the Tigers sit in third behind Cumberlands and Lindsey Wilson.
Sebastian Escobar earned the first podium finish of the meet for Campbellsville. The senior earned the silver medal in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:36.13. Escobar led the 200-yard freestyle relay to a bronze medal finish with
Llewellyn Crewe-Brown,
Bosco Barrero, and
Lucca Motta on the relay.
Luis Castro and Motta brought in seven points in the 500-yard freestyle. Castro placed 11th at 4:53.62, and Motta was 16th at 5:11.66. Crewe-Brown,
Logan Pisula, and
Jude White collected 10 points for the Tigers in the 200-yard IM. Crewe-Brown placed 10th in 1:59.16, White was 15th with a time of 2:10.92, and Pisula rounded out the group by placing 16th in 2:12.59.
Campbellsville narrowly missed a medal in the 400-yard medley relay, placing 4th. Crewe-Brown, Barrero, Escobar, and Castro finished the event in 3:36.94, with Shawnee State placing 3rd in 3:32.86.
The Tigers are back in action for day two on Friday, February 3rd, at the Mid-South Conference Championships.
