COLUMBIA, Ky. — The (RV) Tigers put up an unsuccessful fight in the first of two, but kept leaving Lindsey Wilson stranded on base for the game two win.
GAME ONE: Campbellsville 3, Lindsey Wilson 4
The Tigers opened up game one with a slower start and didn't put runs on the board until the top of third.
Noah Amenta made it to first on an error and then Banta scored off of this to make it a tied game 1-1. McCann doubled which resulted in an Amenta score and pushed the Tigers ahead 2-1. Lindsey Wilson came back in the fifth and sixth inning to put the Blue Raiders up 4-2.
Campbellsville sought a comeback in the top of the seventh as Seitz singled and Wright scored, but it wasn't enough as the final score went 4-3 for Lindsey Wilson.
Campbellsville only tallied three runs and six hits in comparison to Lindsey Wilson's four runs on seven hits. Pitcher
Mason Lee threw nine strikeouts.
GAME TWO: Campbellsville 8, Lindsey Wilson 1
Campbellsville had an electric second game.
Henry Wright started the offense out with a double to left field in the second inning, but the Tigers would remain scoreless.
They fired up in the fourth inning though as they recorded a single (Wright), a double (
Samio Uze), and a homerun (
Kale Seitz). Uze hit to left field and allowed
Jorge Gonzalez to score. Wright's single to right center got Uze to home plate, while
Kale Seitz homered collecting three RBI to make the score 5-1 for the Tigers.
Chad McCann scored in the top of the seventh and, in the ninth, McCann ran in as Gonzalez hit a double to left center. Then, following that. the Tigers scored again an Uze double.
Garrett Maloney pitched, only allowing one run on eight hits from the Blue Raiders. He finished the day with a 0.673 strike percentage. Wright led the team with three hits and Seitz had a team-high three RBI's.
Campbellsville has tentatively scheduled the final game of the series against Lindsey Wilson for either Saturday, April 1st or Sunday April 2nd.
