WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — The Tigers began their conference play against the #19 Cumberland Patriots Saturday afternoon. The Patriots mustered more quality looks on the goal and controlled much of the match, winning 3-0.
The Patriots logged their first score in the 18th minute on their third try at the goal. The Tigers wouldn't get a shot off in the first 45 while Cumberlands ulimtately kicked ten, landing two more and going into the half with the 3-0 advantage. Campbellsville earned three corners compared to Cumberlands' two but just couldn't get any action going in the opposing box.
In their first match against a top-25 team in the 2023 season, the match didn't see another score, but the Tigers did notch five shots with one on goal in the latter half.
Campbellsville will be back in action Wednesday September 27th at home against Cumberland University continuing their conference play. That match is set to begin after the women's, at 8 p.m. ET.
