School records fall at home against Asbury and Centre College over the weekend

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY – The Tigers completed a busy 24 hours in the Powell Athletic Centre over the weekend with the Colonels and Eagles visiting campus.

Campbellsville started out on a strong note to begin the meet. The 200-meter medley relay school record fell with Ellie Eisses, Marlien Crewe-Brown, Victória Lanza, and Taryn Harper lowering the record to 2:11.15 and earning runner-up in the process. Lanza gave Campbellsville the first individual win of the day in the 200-meter freestyle in a school record time of 2:14.31. 

Crewe-Brown followed Lanza's lead and won the 200-meter IM by .01 seconds in 2:38.93. Lanza's second win of the day came in the 100-meter butterfly with another close wall touch in 1:11.17. Harper was 2.24 seconds off top prize in the 100-meter freestyle with her runner-up finish time of 1:07.93. 

Clara Björkegren set the school record in the 400-meter freestyle in 4:53.73 while earning the win. Campbellsville finished 3rd in the 200-meter freestyle relay with Chloe Little, Marissa Toms, Charlotte Stull, and Crewe-Brown finishing in 2:03.67.

Saturday morning, the Tigers picked up where they left off Friday evening. Eisses, Crewe-Brown, Lanza, and Harper earned 3rd place in the 200-meter medley relay in 2:15.92. Bjorkegren set her second school record of the weekend in the 800-meter freestyle with a time of 10:09.17. 

Crewe-Brown and Toms went 1-2 in the 100-meter breaststroke. Crewe-Brown won the event in 1:19.76, while Toms edged out the third-place finisher by .01 with a time of 1:24.05. Lanza's weekend kept ramping up with another win in the 200-meter butterfly. She swam a school record in the event in 2:39.80. Bjorkegren was runner-up in the 50-meter freestyle in 29.99, .72 off the win.

Abriella Taylor earned 3rd place in the 100-meter freestyle in 1:16.21. Sofia Tricoli and Stull went 2-3 in the 200-meter backstroke. Tricoli was the runner-up in the event in 2:45.82, and Stull was 3rd in 2:50.46. 

Crewe-Brown and Toms were top three finishers in the 200-meter breaststroke. Crewe-Brown was the champion in the event in 2:53.87, Toms placed 3rd in 3:07.81. Lanza was 1.77 seconds away from one final solo victory on the weekend in the 100-meter butterfly. She placed 2nd in 1:11.76. 

Toms gave Campbellsville the final win of the weekend for the team in the 200-meter IM. She won the event in 2:45.41. 

Campbellsville will have the weekend off next week before returning to the water on Saturday, November 2nd when they travel to Union College. That meet begins at 1 p.m. ET.
