LEBANON, Tenn. — After winning four of their previous five matches of the season, the Tigers headed to battle the #14 Cumberland University Phoenix Friday night, seeking to sustain their momentum. Cumberland's defense proved defiant, limiting Campbellsville's offensive chances to just three shots (none on goal) and took the victory, 3-0.
The match was a slow start, as neither team managed to score in the first 40 minutes of the game. However, Cumberland had seven chances to put a ball in the net and the Phoenix scored their first goal with only five minutes left on the clock, finishing the first half with Campbellsville trailing 1-0.
Mark Horn opened the second half with a shot followed by Jamie Bird from the corner, still unable to score. At the 65 minute mark, Cumberland sank their second goal of the match, and only five minutes later scored another goal, putting things out of reach, 3-0.
The Tigers will be back in action hosting the #9 University of the Cumberlands Patriots on Thursday, October 10th beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

- Hendricks, Horn, and Lwandile Tembi each attempted a shot through tonight's match, while Malte Schou collected three saves.
