MARION, IN – The Tigers took eight victories on Saturday in a dual meet at Indiana Wesleyan.
Campbellsville began the day with a win in the 200-yard medley relay.
Ian Lopez,
Yuri Prokopchuk,
Llewellyn Crewe-Brown, and
Andreu Jaén Serra picked up the win in 1:39.93. Crewe-Brown earned the first individual win of the afternoon in the 1000-yard freestyle in 11:16.66 while
Bosco Barrero was close behind in the silver medal position in 12:34.93.
Logan Pisula earned the bronze medal in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:03.04,
Lucca Vieirra Motta was 4
th behind Pisula in 2:08.45. Lopez gave Campbellsville a silver medal in the 100-yard backstroke in 59.18.
Prokopchuk set the school record in the 100-yard breaststroke, winning the event in a time of 57.94. Jaen Serra and
Jackson Willett joined the winners podium on the day in their events. Jaen Serra won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:03.64, and Willet won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.29. Motta was 3
rd in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.04.
The Tigers had two podium finishers come out of the 100-yard freestyle.
Martin Venegas placed 2
nd overall in 51.74, and Lopez was 3
rd in 52.32. Prokopchuk earned his second victory of the day in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:16.02, Barrero placed 3
rd close to Prokopchuk in 2:42.90, and Kase Moore was 4
th in 2:49.63.
Luis Castro gave Campbellsville the win in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:06.25. Jaen Serra earned the final victory of the afternoon for the Tigers in the 200-yard IM in 2:04.38. Pisula was 4
th in the 200 IM in 2:22.54.
The final event of the day for Campbellsville was the 200-yard freestyle relay with a runner-up finish from Crewe-Brown, Jaen Serra, Lopez, and Willet in 1:31.60.
The Tigers will now have the weekend off before hosting their home opener on Friday, October 18
th against Centre College. That meet is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. ET.
