Campbellsville places 9th after three school records and two NAIA Provisional Cuts over the weekend

DANVILLE, KY – Campbellsville comes away with three school records and two NAIA Provisional Cuts at the Mid-Season Invitational at Centre College over the weekend. 

Victória Lanza had the first provisional cut and school record of the weekend in the 500-yard freestyle. Lanza placed 18th overall and was in the B final with a time of 5:23.45. Charlotte Stull had the second provisional cut of the weekend in the 400-yard IM. She was in the B final placing 15th overall in 4:57.74. 

Marlien Crewe-Brown set the school record in the 100-yard breaststroke, placing 8th overall in 1:08.11. The final school record of the weekend came from the 800-yard freestyle relay. Stull, Taryn Harper, Clara Björkegren, and Lanza placed 11th in 8:19.29. 

Campbellsville qualified for multiple finals throughout the course of the weekend. The Tigers placed 19th in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Crewe-Brown, Bjorkegren, Ellie Eisses, and Lanza swimming 1:45.48. In the 400-yard medley relay, Sofia Tricoli, Crewe-Brown, Lanza, and Harper were 14th in the race in 4:13.66. 

Eisses, Chloe Little, Marissa Toms, and Stull placed 18th in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:58.18. Toms was in the B final with Stull in the 400-yard IM, placing 20th in 5:10.48. Lanza qualified for the C finals in the 100-yard butterfly placing 27th in the race in 1:02.26. Harper was the next qualifier for a final in the 200-yard freestyle. She made the C final placing 29th overall in 2:06.64. 

Behind Crewe-Brown's school record in the 100-yard breaststroke, Little was in the C final in the event. She placed 24th in the finals in 1:13.01. Both Tricoli and Eisses were in the C finals for the 100-yard backstroke. Tricoli placed 24th in 1:05.38, and Eisses was 26th in 1:06.64. 

Bjorkegren swam in the 1650-yard freestyle and placed 19th in 19:17.30. In the 200-yard backstroke Campbellsville finished with three athletes in a row. Stull was 24th in 2:21.98, Tricoli placed 25th in 2:22.16, and Eisses finished 26th in 2:24.65. 

The 100-yard IM saw Little in the A final placing 8th in 1:06.18. Lucy Ballard was in the B final placing 13th in 1:17.55. Lanza had the highest individual placing of the meet for the Tigers in the 200-yard butterfly. She placed 5th in the event in 2:15.10. The final individual event was the 200-yard breaststroke. Little and Toms were in the C final and finished back-to-back. Little was 28th in 2:42.52, and Toms was 29th in 2:42.70. 

Campbellsville was 18th in the final event of the weekend in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Stull, Harper, Eisses, and Lanza finished the event and the weekend off with a time of 3:52.38.

As a team, Campbellsville placed 9th overall with 565 team points. The Tigers final meet before the Christmas break will be Friday, December 6th, at UT Southern.
