COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Tigers took the road on Monday night to battle the (RV) Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders for their last regular season match-up. Campbellsville's defensive efforts were not enough to stop Lindsey Wilson's arduous offensive attacks, ending the night with a loss, 5-2.
In the opening minutes of the game, the Blue Raiders scored the first goal of the match. Shortly after, Lindsey Wilson scored another goal, amplifying their advantage. From an avid assist by Gustav Oskarsson, Jarred Hendricks scored Campbellsville's first goal of the match. Halfway through the first half, the Blue Raiders' offense proved too strong for the Tigers' defense, scoring their third goal. At the end of the first half, Campbellsville trailed Lindsey Wilson, 3-1.
The second half came to a slow start, with neither team able to move past the other's defense to score. Halfway through the second half, Harry Freeman passed the ball to Hendricks from midfield, resulting in the Tigers' second goal. The Blue Raiders retaliated with another goal, expanding Campbellsville's deficit on the scoreboard. Although the Tigers elevated their offensive strikes, Lindsey Wilson's goalie stopped shot after shot at the goal. With less than 20 seconds left in the game, the Blue Raiders scored their fifth goal of the night, closing the game with a Campbellsville loss, 5-2.
The Tigers will be back in action hosting the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Friday, November 8th.
