Four Tigers win their brackets at Tiffin Open

TIFFIN, Ohio. – In their first competition of the 2024-25 season at the Tiffin Open, the Tigers saw four first-place finishers in #9 Olivia Messerly (131 lbs.), #9 Gaby Perez (138 lbs.), #2 Emma Walker (145 lbs.), and #3 Liliana Vergara (180 lbs.).

Walker ended her first two matches via pinfalls in :38 seconds or less and then solidified her final two matches against fellow Campbellsville wrestlers with technical falls, not allowing a point from her opponents.
Messerly was victorious with a technical fall and three pins coming in 1:34 or less. Also, Vergara didn't allow a single point scored against her and also pinned two opponents in 2:10 or less.
Perez posted two decision wins over teammates and then won in the championship match against fellow Tiger Rita Carey.
#13 Riley Banyas (103 lbs.), Emily Anderson (124 lbs.), #17 Cameron Ortiz (131 lbs.), Carey (138 lbs.), and #14 Sierra Chavez (145 lbs.) all were runners-up in their respective weight classes. #14 Josie Davis (124 lbs.) and #11 Addison Messerly (138 lbs.) were both third.
