CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville Tigers hosted the Midway Eagles in the season's first home match on Wednesday night. The Tigers sweep the Eagles, taking down Midway in three sets.

The first point of the set was awarded to the Tigers with a kill by Neels Paugels. Service errors helped the Eagles match the Tigers point-for-point to continue the first set. The set was tied until the Tigers took a two-point lead over the Eagles, 13-11. Campbellsville would go on to have a four-point run until an attack error would end that run. The Tigers quickly extended their lead to nine points, taking in the first set 25-16.

The Eagles took an early advantage over the Tigers in the second set. A kill from John-Marcos Gonzalez helped the Tigers take over. The Eagles fell behind the Tigers 13-8 before working their way back to tie the set at 13-13. Kills from Gaston Barrionuevo, Mason McKinney, and Trevor Gruner put Campbellsville in front of the Eagles, 16-13. With more errors from the Tigers, the set quickly became tied at 18-18. Kills from Gruner, Pedro Zavatini, and Barrionuevo pushed the Tigers to the 25-point mark, winning set two, 25-21.

The Tigers took an early 10-0 lead over the Eagles to begin the third set. Gruner played a big part in that, tallying five service aces. The Tigers remained dominant, continuing with an 11-point lead from service errors and missed opportunities by the Eagles. Kills from Denzel Madrigal, Jariel Diaz, George Posadas Jr., and Alvaro Grande led the Tigers to a 25-11 victory.

Campbellsville was led by Barrionuevo with seven kills, followed by Gonzalez with five. The Tigers were also led by Gruner with five service aces, Matheus Curri with 15 assists, and Andres Laboy with nine digs.
