Lady Tigers prevent Milligan from scoring to win home-opener

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.- The Lady Tigers hosted the Milligan University Buffaloes for their home opener game on Thursday. Campbellsville limited Milligan to no touchdowns, taking the victory, 6-0.

The Lady Tigers first battled the Buffaloes in their first game of the season, winning 14-6, but they could not face them last year due to a game cancellation.

The Lady Tigers ended their first drive in the first quarter with a fumble off a completed pass. Campbellsville forced a turnover on downs in a goal-on-stand. Presley Payne gained a few yards for the Lady Tigers, but the game remained scoreless at the end of the first 10 minutes of play.

Angeline Beecher and Payne's tackles prevented the Buffaloes from scoring. Milligan pushed through Campbellsville's defense, and as they neared the end zone, Payne blocked their opportunity to close the first half.

The third quarter was highlighted by a 70-yard touchdown from Analise Beecher, making the Lady Tigers first on the scoreboard.

On the Buffaloe's final drive, Olivia Noffsinger intercepted a pass through the receiver's hand, closing the game with a victory.

The Lady Tigers will be back in action, hosting the Milligan University Buffaloes for another game on Friday, April 5th, beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET.
