CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The Lady Tigers hosted the Milligan University Buffaloes, the Bryant Stratton Bobcats, the Thomas University Night Hawks, and the Warner University Royals for this year's flag football frenzy. Campbellsville collected two wins and two losses over the weekend.
GAME ONE: Campbellsville 14, Milligan 6
The Buffaloes were first to score with a 19-yard touchdown in the opening of the second quarter, unsuccessful in their attempt for an extra point. The Lady Tigers quickly retaliated with a touchdown from the goal line and
Angeline Beecher brought in an extra point for Campbellsville.
Presley Payne swiftly intercepted the ball in the closing of the first half.
Emma Walker opened the second with a punt, bringing the Lady Tigers to the 1-yard line. Payne scored a rushing touchdown, closing the game with a Campbellsville victory.
GAME TWO: Campbellsville 18, Bryant & Stratton 14
The Lady Tigers came into the second game of the day with avid momentum, however, the Bobcats interceptions' brought pressure to the field. As the scoreboard remained at zero, Bryant & Stratton scored the first touchdown of the game with 13 yards to go during the second quarter.
Journey Knowles agilely passed the ball to
Jaycie Harper, bringing her to score a 14-yard touchdown and putting Campbellsville on the scoreboard.
Kaylee Campbell began the third quarter with a 9-yard touchdown. As the Bobcats regained possession,
Analise Beecher intercepted the ball closing the third quarter.
Coming into the final quarter, Bryant & Stratton retaliated with an interception of their own, resulting in a 15-yard touchdown with a successful extra point attempt.
Analise Beecher regained possession for the Lady Tigers, providing Payne the opportunity to rush for a 20-yard touchdown.
GAME THREE: Campbellsville 0, Thomas 53
The Lady Tigers did not make it to the end zone throughout the game. The Nighthawks on the other hand collected two touchdowns in the first quarter, three in the second quarter, two in the third quarter, and one in the fourth quarter.
Although Campbell managed to gain a few yards for Campbellsville in the closing of the final quarter, it was not enough to catch up with Thomas.
GAME FOUR: Campbellsville 6, Warner 12
The game remained scoreless throughout the entirety of the first three quarters of play.
The Royals scored the first touchdown of the game halfway through the fourth quarter.
Analise Beecher intercepted the ball in the last minute of the game bringing the Lady Tigers 17 yards away from the end zone. Payne's avid pass to Harper resulted in a touchdown, tying the score at six.
The game went into overtime with Campbellsville holding possession over the ball. Payne agilely passed the ball to
Angeline Beecher, but Warner quickly intercepted it in the end zone. The Royals scored another touchdown, winning the game.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action taking the road to Babson Park, Florida on Friday, April 12th to battle the Webber International University Warriors and the Warner University Royals beginning at 1 and 3 p.m. ET.
