Whiting, Ind. - The Tigers took the road to battle the Calumet College of St. Joseph Crimson Wave on Thursday. Campbellsville's offense proved too strong for Calumet's to overthrow, resulting in a staggering Tiger victory, 11-0.
Within five minutes of kick-off, Jamie Bird scored the game's first goal, putting the Tigers on the scoreboard. Only three minutes later, Jarred Hendricks followed with another goal, increasing Campbellsville's early lead. The Tigers attempted shot after shot but were unable to connect. However, Hendricks scored his second goal of the game. Nicolo Lanari came off the bench scoring Campbellsvile's fourth goal with only eight seconds left on the clock, closing the first half 4-0.
Antonio Quinta opened the second half with a goal in the first three minutes of the game. The Tigers' defense prevented the Crimson Wave from coming close to scoring, keeping avid control on their side of the field. Ollie Jagroop and Fabio Farbosa collected back-to-back goals for Campbellsville, expanding their lead to a seven-goal advantage halfway through the second half. The Tigers increased their upper hand to double digits as Makwe Nkoana and Ruben Cooper each scored two goals.
The Tigers will be back in action, hosting the Brescia University Bearcats on Tuesday, September 17th, beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
