COLUMBIA, KY – The Tigers kicked off the 2024-25 season at the Lindsey Wilson Fall Frenzy over the weekend.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay,
Ellie Eisses,
Marlien Crewe-Brown,
Victória Lanza, and
Marissa Toms earned 7th overall in 1:47.64. Campbellsville returned with another 7th place relay in the 400-yard medley relay with Eisses, Crewe-Brown, Lanza, and
Clara Björkegren swimming 4:22.58.
The Tigers earned 8th in the 200-yard medley relay in 2:02.14 with Eisses, Crewe-Brown, Lanza, and Bjorkegren on the team. Lanza,
Taryn Harper, Crewe-Brown, and Bjorkegren swam a top-five time of 8:51.33 in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
Individually, Lanza led the way with a bronze medal finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:34.23. Bjorkegren was 7th behind Lanza in the event at 5:42.94. Lanza was top ten in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:04.82.
Crewe-Brown earned two top-ten individual finishes on the weekend. In the 200-yard IM, she placed 10th, touching the wall in 2:25.56, while placing 5th in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:12.97.
Chloe Little was close behind Crewe-Brown in the breaststroke, placing 8th in 1:16.72.
Toms swam to a 7th place finish in the 400-yard IM in 5:18.22. Harper garnered a top ten spot in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:12.12.
Bjorkegren gave Campbellsville another 5th place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle in 20:54.21.
Sofia Tricoli and Eisses were the final Tigers to earn the team key points on the weekend. Tricoli placed 9th in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:30.46, and Eisses was 10th in 2:34.55.
As a team, Campbellsville placed 4th overall with a score of 409. The Tigers will return to the pool on Saturday, October 5th, when they travel to Indiana Wesleyan University. The first event begins at 2 p.m. ET.
