CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY. – The Tigers hosted the Brescia Bearcats in their home opener match of the 2024 season. The Campbellsville Tigers dominated their home court, sweeping the Brescia Bearcats in a 3-0 match.
The Campbellsville Tigers opened with a point and confidence in the first set of the match. Jana Krstic created great opportunities for the Tigers to score. Offensively, the Tigers had an advantage, showing a five-point difference on the scoreboard. The Bearcats' errors gave precedence to the Tigers, taking the first set, 25-21.
Emily Aabey opened the second set with a kill. Campbellsville's solid front row blocked the opportunities for the Bearcats to score. The Tigers scored five consecutive points, obtaining the lead in the second set. With a wide-open line in the court, the Tigers dominated the second set, 25-15.
Brescia and Campbellsville rallied in the third set. Brescia took the lead with a four-point advantage. However, the Tigers bounced back with massive kills from Aabey and took the third set, 25-22.
The Tigers will return on Saturday, September 7th, to face Oakland City University and Shawnee State University at home. The matches are set to begin at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET.

- Aabey kills for the first game with 12, Cerrick Merrick with 11, and Erica Calderon with nine.
- Calderon achieved 5.0 blocks, with Brooke Hager not too far behind with 4.0.
- Tonight's game marked the 11th consecutive win for the Tigers against the Bearcats, remaining undefeated since 2005.
