NASHVILLE, TN - Campbellsville began the 2025 portion of the schedule on the road at Vanderbilt and Marshall on Saturday.
In early performances in the 200m,
Zachary Phelps and
Devin Girtman both finished in back-to-back positions, running 22.62. Phelps doubled up on the day, earning a top-ten finish in the 400m, running an early season best of 50.44.
On the distance side of the track, three athletes finished all in a row in the 1,000m run.
Lukas Smithson,
Myles Smithson, and
Alex Steen were the trio in the event. Lukas placed 7th, running 2:33.36, Myles was 8th in 2:33.50, and Steen was 9th in 2:37.08.
JaQuez Campbell began his spring portion of the season in the long jump, placing 8th with a mark of 6.90m.
CamRon Hamby returned to the pit after hitting the #1 jump in the country in his season opener back in December in the triple jump. Hamby placed 3rd overall, with his best mark landing at 14.95m.
At the Marshall Alumni Classic,
Seth Cartwright placed 4th in the shot put with a mark of 14.23m coming off his final attempt of the day.
Jonah Oliver earned a top-ten finish in the weight throw, placing 10th at 13.38m.
Campbellsville returns to the track at the Bellarmine Open on Saturday, January 17th, in Louisville, KY.
