"I am incredibly proud of this team!" head coach Laura Day stated. "Each one of the dancers has pushed themselves a little harder this year to incorporate several difficult skills in this year's routine, and I am very proud of this first competition weekend."
The American Midwest Conference announced their pick for Performer of the Week as Campbellsville sophomore Shalyn Taylor on Monday. "Shay is a crucial piece of our competition team! She is our trick girl, and for a good portion of the routine, she has a completely different choreography than the rest of the team. This dancer came in this season with determination to improve certain skills you see on point throughout this routine. On top of her hard work and determination, Shay keeps the team in a positive and fun spirit! We can always count on Shay to get us laughing!" says Day.
The dance team will be back in action this weekend, heading to Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri, to compete at the Spartan Showcase.
