NEW ORLEANS, La. — Monday, March 11
th the Campbellsville University Dance Team competed in the NAIA Southeast Regional hosted by Loyola University in New Orleans. The Lady Tigers earned third place at the event, the highest placement at a regional competition in program history.
CU finished the preliminary round in second place with a score of 65.50 behind host Loyola. In the second round, the Tigers increased their score to a 66.87. With the preliminary round counting for 25% and the final round counting for 75% of their final total score leaving them with a 66.53 to end the day.
The Tigers fell behind Ave Maria University (second) with a score of 69.03 and Loyola University who finished in first place with a 75.54. University of the Cumberlands placed fourth with a 64.89 and Keiser University placed fifth with a 49.83.
"These ladies have impressed me this season. The dedication and passion they have for this sport is unmatched and I am so proud of each of them individually and how they have grown together as a team. We know what we need to work on for next season, but for now, some much needed rest!" stated head coach, Laura Day.
