CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The (RV) Campbellsville men's soccer team will travel to Lebanon, Tennessee, to kick off their Mid-South Conference Tournament play on Friday at 1 p.m. ET.
The fifth-seeded Campbellsville University Tigers will take on the fourth-seeded Cumberland University Phoenix on Halloween. Campbellsville's prior match-up with the Phoenix was their most recent match, finishing out the regular-season with a 2-0 victory. Through the first half of the match, neither team managed to score. Within the first five minutes of the second half, Mihlali Blesi scored the first goal of the game. Blesi scored another goal just a few minutes later, garnering another two-goal match and securing the victory.
Throughout the season, Campbellsville collected an overall record of 9-6, with a conference record of 3-3 in the Mid-South Conference.
Blesi and Malthe Scho have been key players for Campbellsville this season. Blesi, the Tigers' leading goal scorer, team lead in assists, and team lead in points earned, has scored nine goals, four assists, and ten points. Blesi has also been named the Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week twice. Schou, the Tigers' goalkeeper, has collected 50 saves and one win.
The University of the Cumberlands was named the regular-season champions.
The Mid-South Conference Tournament bracket was announced on Saturday, featuring the following team seeds: #1 University of the Cumberlands (8-4-4, 5-1), #2 Bethel University (10-1-2, 4-1-1), #3 Lindsey Wilson University (11-2-1, 4-2), #4 Cumberland University (11-2-3, 3-2-1)#5 Campbellsville University (9-6, 3-3), #6 Freed-Hardeman University (10-6-1, 1-5), and #7 Georgetown College (2-10-1, 0-6).
