Crusenberry selected as 2026 international team member for Team USA Deaf Baseball

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University baseball player Tristin Crusenberry has been selected to play for Team USA Deaf Baseball for the 2026 international team. The announcement came after tryouts were held in Austin, Texas, at the beginning of October.

Team USA Deaf Baseball held tryouts in Austin, Texas, to select its team heading into the second-ever World Deaf Baseball Championships. Those who are hard of hearing or deaf, are 18 years old or older, and have prior baseball experience were eligible to try out for the team.

The first event took place in 2024, when Team USA placed second out of five countries. The second event will take place from November 1st to November 3rd in Kanagawa, Japan, with nine countries planning to attend.

Crusenberry, one of the Tigers' pitchers, is heading into his senior season. The Owensboro, Kentucky, native continued his baseball career after high school at the junior college level before eventually transferring to Campbellsville University for the 2024 season. Immediately, Crusenberry made an impact on the pitching staff with a 3.79 ERA and 67 strikeouts throughout his first season as a Tiger.

Crusenberry has compiled an average ERA of 5.69, 106 innings pitched, 100 strikeouts, and started 24 games of his 26 appearances at Campbellsville University over the past two seasons.

Pitching coach, Kasey Guinty, expressed, "We are very proud and excited for Tristin and his selection for Team USA Deaf Baseball. I know how excited he is to participate on the world stage representing Team USA and the deaf community. More importantly, I know he will cherish this opportunity to continue being a great teammate, a leader, and sharing his faith."
