CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The 10-year wait is over. The Campbellsville University Fighting Tigers are going back to the NAIA Football Championship Series.
After concluding a successful 8-2 regular season, the Tigers were announced as the 12-seed in the 20-team FCS field on Sunday. The bid snaps a playoff drought for the program that extended back to 2015.
The 2025 field, which boasts a collective record of 180-30 (.857), includes 13 automatic qualifiers and seven at-large selections. The Tigers earned one of the coveted at-large bids.
In the final NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll of the regular season, Campbellsville landed at #15, the national office announced.
As the #12 seed, Campbellsville receives a first-round bye.
The Tigers enter the postseason with one of the nation's most formidable offenses, averaging 41.5 points and 459.2 yards per game. The unit is led by senior running back
Tre' Bass (1,526 all-purpose yards, 18 TDs) and quarterback
Jett Engle (2,619 passing yards, 27 TDs). The defense has been a ball-hawking force, collecting 25 total takeaways (15 interceptions, 10 fumbles).
The NAIA FCS Second Round will take place on Saturday, Nov. 29th, with the road to the 2025 NAIA National Championship Game in Fort Worth, Texas, on December 20th.
