COLUMBIA, KY & BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Tigers took on the high winds over the weekend at the Blue Raider Rumble, Lindsey Wilson College's first home meet in seven years.

Early in the meet, Campbellsville's race strategy had to change with the high winds throughout the track. In the 100m, Jason Baskerville was the runner-up in the race with a time of 10.26. Schavon Carr was 5th in the event at 10.41, Devin Girtman earned 7th place in 10.55, and Isaiah Johnson brought in the final point in 8th to total 15 points in 10.55. However, with the wind at 5.8, the times were not eligible for records or NAIA National A or B Standard cuts. 

Zachary Phelps had two wins individually over the weekend. Phelps won the 200m with a time of 22.15, and in the 400m, he set a .01 second personal best in 48.43 to best his school record he set last weekend. Girtman earned the bronze medal in the 200m in 22.24, earning six points, and Matthias Brice placed 8th overall to earn the final point of the 200m in 22.63. Brice also gave the Tigers five points in the 400m with a 4th-place time of 49.22. 

On the distance side of the track, Campbellsville picked up key points throughout the four events. The Tigers took the top four spots in the 800m. Lukas Smithson won the event in 2:00.18, teammate Alex Steen was narrowly behind Smithson as the runner-up in 2:00.30, senior Dakota Brady was the bronze medalist in 2:01.79, and Samuel Larson was 4th in 2:09.40. Brady and Larson teamed up for 15 points in the 1500m run. Brady won the event by 5.19 seconds with a time of 4:10.02, while Larson placed 4th again in 4:17.81. 

15 more points came from the 5,000m lineup. Dustin Ralph led the way for a trio of Tigers in 3rd at 17:30.21, Luke Burton was 4th behind Ralph in 17:32.24, and Zachary Lynch placed 5th at 17:42.68. 

William Riley was the lone scorer in the 110m hurdles with a 6th place finish at 19.71. In the 4x100m relay, Campbellsville found themselves running solo after a Lindsey Wilson false start. Bain, Phelps, Girtman, and Baskerville were able to finish the relay in 41.70. Riley placed 3rd in the high jump, clearing 1.60m on his second attempt of the day. 

Corey Smith II totaled seven points from the long jump and triple jump. He was 8th in the long jump with a mark of 6.17m and placed 3rd in the triple jump, with his best mark landing at 13.86m on his third attempt of the day. 

30 points were added to the team's score from the throwing events. Jonah Oliver won his first event of the outdoor season in the discus throw. Oliver had a personal best mark of 44.49m on his third attempt. Jeremiah Schine placed 7th at 34.12m. In the shot put, Oliver was 4th overall and threw for a distance of 12.82m. Oliver was the runner-up in the hammer throw with a personal best mark of 44.20m, and Mavrik Hall placed 4th at 38.63m on his final throw of the day. 

At the UAB Spring Invitational, a handful of sprinters went down to more ideal conditions for racing compared to the day before. In the 100m, Baskerville was the bronze medalist at 10.79, Johnson earned two points in 7th at 10.88. Phelps earned one point in the 200m with an 8th-place time of 21.76. Brice ran only .31 seconds slower than at UAB compared to Lindsey Wilson, with a 7th place time of 49.53. Carr was the runner-up in the 110m hurdles with an NAIA B Standard of 14.27. The 4x100m relay gave the team six final points, with Bain, Phelps, Girtman, and Baskerville running 41.80.

Campbellsville will now travel to the Jim Vargo Invitational at Bellarmine University on April 4-5.
