WILLIAMSBURG & WILMORE, KY – The Tigers were split squad this weekend at Asbury and the University of the Cumberlands over the weekend.
At Asbury, the throws team was able to rack up the points through the four events. In the shot put,
Mavrik Hall won the event with a mark of 14.59m on this first throw of the day.
Joel Roberts came in 4th place with a mark of 13.03m, and
Jonah Oliver rounded out the scoring in the event with a mark of 12.29m. Oliver and Hall combined for nine points in the discus. Oliver earned the bronze medal with his only mark landing at 39.46m, and Hall placed 6th at 37.37m. Oliver and Roberts were separated by two positions in the hammer throw. Oliver had his best mark come from the preliminary round of 40.49m, placing 3rd, and Roberts best throw came from his fifth attempt of the day of 38.44m.
The distance team traveled to the University of the Cumberlands home meet this weekend.
Ethan Johnson scored two points in the 1500m placing 7th at 4:11.07.
Samuel Bennett placed 4th in the 5,000 with a season best time of 15:52.55.
Samuel Larson earned the runner-up position in the 3,000m steeplechase earning eight points with a personal best time of 10:16.79.
The Tigers will return to action on Good Friday and Saturday April 18-19 at the Georgia Tech Invitational. Bennett will travel to Boston, Massachusetts for the Boston Marathon on Patriots Day Monday, April 21st.
- Campbellsville will make their first appearance at the Georgia Tech Invitational Easter weekend.
- Bennett will run in his third career marathon at the Boston Marathon.
