Madding runs personal best in season-opener; Campbellsville places 6th

BEREA, Ky. – The Campbellsville University women's cross country team opened up their 2025 season at the Berea College/Centre College Jamboree on Friday.

Emma Madding led the way for the Tigers, landing a 13th-place finish at 20:12.02. The sophomore beat her previous 5k personal record by 24 seconds, where she ran 20:36.20 at the NCCAA Championships last season.

Maggie Jewell was the next Tiger to cross the finish line, finishing in 45th at 22:22.69. Meredith Wilson and Julia Smaldone finished back-to-back: Wilson in 51st at 22:46.44 and Smaldone in 52nd at 22:48.15. The final scorer for Campbellsville was Amelia Larson, finishing in 23:22.25 for 57th place.

Campbellsville placed sixth as a team.

The Tigers will be back on the course on Friday, September 12th, to run in the Southern Showcase in Jacksonville, Alabama.
