HENDERSON, Tenn.- The Tigers took the road to battle the Freed-Hardeman University Lions. Despite the Lions tying the score at the end of the first half, the Tigers clawed their way up to the lead and opened conference season with a victory, 3-1.

- Malte Ekman led Campbellsville with one goal, five shots, and one shot on goal, followed by Mihlali Blesi with one goal, three shots, and two shots on goal, and Izan Garcia Gancedo with one goal, two shots, and two shots on goal.
- Goalie Malte Schou collected five saves throughout the contest.
- Campbellsville surpassed Freed-Hardeman in all statistical categories of the game, most significantly: shots (22-12), shots on goal (7-6), corners (9-2), assists (2-0), and goals (3-1).
- The Tigers will be back in action on Wednesday, September 24th, hosting the Lindsey Wilson University Blue Raiders beginning at 6 p.m. ET for the first home conference doubleheader of the season.
Within the first couple of minutes of the contest, Izan Garcia Gancedo scored Campbellsville's first goal, quickly earning an early lead for the Tigers. Harry Freeman and Fredrik Nordal attempted to amplify Campbellsville's advantage, but their shots were unsuccessful. The Lions tied the score with a successful penalty shot, closing the half, 1-1.
Malte Ekman came off the bench with a goal in the first five minutes of the second half, assisted by Ollie Jagroop, and reclaimed the Tigers' upper hand. Both teams exchanged shots as the second half continued to unfold, but neither team managed to push past each other's defenses. In the 88th minute of the match, Mihlai Blesi kicked another goal for Campbellsville to close the game with a two-goal advantage, 3-1.
