COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Campbellsville University swim teams concluded their 2025-26 regular season campaign Saturday at the Highway 55 Last Chance Invitational, facing off against host Lindsey Wilson University.
- Marlien Crewe-Brown completed a clean sweep of the women's breaststroke events, taking gold in both the 100-yard (1:05.88) and 200-yard (2:27.03) races.
- Kyle Kleinhans paced the men's squad with a pair of victories in the 100-yard butterfly (54.71) and 100-yard backstroke (56.74) while adding a personal best in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.67).
- Andreu Jaen Serra anchored the distance events, securing a runner-up finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:55.69.
- Jacob Isacson notched a second-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (1:59.46) and set a new personal benchmark in the 100-yard individual medley (1:01.07).
- The Tiger relay teams showed strength, with the women's 400-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley squads both earning silver medals.
- Collectively, the Tigers set eight new personal best times as they finalized preparations for the conference championship.
- The Tigers will travel to Danville, Kentucky, to compete in the Mid-South Conference Championships, hosted at Centre College from February 5th through the 7th.
In a meet designed to fine-tune speed and secure final qualifying cuts before the postseason, the Tigers delivered standout individual performances. The men's team tallied 25 points to Lindsey Wilson's 77, while the women's team posted 39 points against the Blue Raiders' 60.
On the men's side,
Kyle Kleinhans was the catalyst for the Tigers. Kleinhans touched the wall first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.71 and followed up with a victory in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking a 56.74. Kleinhans also showcased his versatility in the freestyle events, posting a new personal best of 1:50.67 in the 200-yard freestyle.
In the distance lanes,
Andreu Jaen Serra led the charge. He secured a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:55.69. Teammates
Luis Castro and
Adrien Cantemerle bolstered the Tigers' scoring in the event, finishing fourth (5:03.16) and fifth (5:14.83), respectively.
The backstroke events saw continued success for Campbellsville. Jacob Isacson touched second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.46, with
Domantas Petraitis finishing third and Castro taking fifth. Isacson also added a personal best in the 100-yard individual medley (1:01.07).
In the sprint freestyle,
Kirkland May earned a runner-up finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a swift 23.53. May also logged a personal best in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.41). Other notable personal bests on the men's side included Ryan Wolfe in the 100-yard freestyle (56.95) and 50-yard backstroke (29.74), and Kase Moore in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:47.21).
For the Lady Tigers,
Marlien Crewe-Brown continued her dominance in the breaststroke. She swept the discipline, claiming gold in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.88 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:27.03. She also flashed speed in the freestyle, setting a personal best in the 100-yard free (58.98).
Clara Björkegren added valuable points in the distance events, placing second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:36.71), supported by top-five finishes from Victoria Lanza and
Adison Melton. In the backstroke,
Natasha Maracci earned silver in the 100-yard event with a time of 1:04.39. Evelina Lemon rounded out the podium efforts with a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (2:09.74).
The women's relay teams demonstrated strong chemistry heading into the postseason. The 'A' squad of Maracci, Crewe-Brown,
Sofia Tricoli, and Lanza finished second in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:55.92. Later, the quartet of Crewe-Brown, Maracci, Tricoli, and Lanza combined for a runner-up finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:55.78). Tricoli also celebrated an individual milestone, setting a personal best in the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.66).
With the regular season now complete, Campbellsville turns its full attention to the postseason.
