Early in the first set, the score was tightly contested. However, Campbellsville's unforced errors propelled Georgetown into the lead. The visitors capitalized heavily on Campbellsville's miscues, with 15 of Georgetown's 25 points in the first frame coming directly from attacking and service errors. Struggling to find a defensive rhythm, Campbellsville was unable to stop Georgetown's late push, dropping the opener 25-20.
Much like the first, the score remained close in the opening stages of the second set. Campbellsville managed to carve out a narrow lead by cleaning up its execution and strengthening its attacks. The defensive pressure at the net from
Ayoube Hamadache and
Fernando Rodriguez stifled Georgetown's scoring attempts, pushing the visitors into a deep deficit as Campbellsville built a double-digit lead. The momentum completely shifted, and Campbellsville took the second set 25-16, capped off by a statement kill from
Savvas Christou.
Georgetown's attacking errors at the beginning of the third set allowed Campbellsville to snatch the lead quickly. Christou and senior
Denzel Madrigal highlighted the offense with insurmountable kills that the Georgetown block simply could not contain. Fueled by a massive 7-0 scoring run aided by three Georgetown attacking errors, Campbellsville raced to set point before an error from the Georgetown service line secured a 25-16 third-set victory.
The fourth set arrived with heavy back-and-forth action. The two squads traded the lead and tied the score repeatedly, with neither side able to build a comfortable gap on the scoreboard. Following an exchange of service errors midway through the frame, Campbellsville blew the set open with another decisive 7-0 run. The explosive sequence featured four kills, two service aces, and a Georgetown attacking error, providing the cushion Campbellsville needed to close out the 25-19 set victory and put another conference win in the books.
