With the start of the opening set, the Tigers took immediate advantage of early Eagle errors, jumping out to a quick 4-0 lead. Freshman setter
Lukas Hlavac came off the bench and calmly took control of the Campbellsville offense, distributing the ball effectively and enabling his hitters to convert kills from all areas of the court. From there, the Tigers dominated the frame, never relinquishing their early advantage and preventing the Eagles from establishing an offensive rhythm. With Midway struggling to find ways to score and committing a high volume of attacking errors, Campbellsville cruised to a comfortable 25-16 victory in set one.
The momentum carried directly into the second frame, where the Tigers' dominance was put on full display. Hlavac stepped to the service line and engineered an impressive ten-point run, highlighted by a pair of service aces, to completely blow the set open early. The Eagles attempted to apply pressure, but they were unable to convert points into runs against Campbellsville's gritty backcourt defense. At the net,
Camilo Fernandez only added to Midway's frustration by throwing up a towering block, shutting down the Eagles' attackers and leading the Tigers to a lopsided 25-8 set-two win.
In pursuit of not being defeated in a clean sweep, Midway came out in the third set with newfound energy. The frame featured intense rallies, with the teams trading side-outs point-for-point in the early goings. However, Campbellsville absorbed the pressure, fought back, and rebuilt their momentum to put the Eagles in a six-point deficit at 15-9. Midway burned a final timeout in hopes of recreating their early-set competitiveness, but terminal kills from freshman
Eduardo Polli and
Luke Stracener extinguished the spark. Campbellsville comfortably closed out the match with a 25-19 third-set victory.
