PORTSMOUTH, Ohio. – On Tuesday afternoon, the Tigers took on Shawnee State in Ohio and fell 10-6. Shawnee State's big eighth inning proved decisive, and Campbellsville's late efforts weren't enough to complete the comeback.
- Antony Gilbert went 4-for-4, putting the Tigers on the board early with a leadoff home run in the first inning and adding a triple later in the game, setting the tone offensively.
- Brady Henke went 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs, sparking early scoring for the Tigers.
- Jaxson Grubbs went 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI, helping tie the game in the seventh and sparking the Tigers' mid-game rally.

The Tigers quickly made their presence felt in the opening frame, as
Antony Gilbert blasted a leadoff homer to right field, giving Campbellsville a 1-0 lead.
Jason Franzel and
Thomas Krueger struck out to end the inning, but the Tigers left no one stranded.
Shawnee State responded in the bottom half of the third inning after a quiet first two frames. A double and a two-run homer to put the Bears ahead 3-1. The Tigers' defense limited further damage and ended the rally.
Campbellsville chipped away in the fourth inning.
Jaxson Grubbs doubled, and
Kleysen Gabruck singled to set the table.
Tate Wischnack's groundout scored Grubbs, cutting the deficit to 3-2.
Shawnee State extended their lead in the fifth when they tripled and scored, making it 4-2.
Campbellsville tied the game in the sixth inning. After multiple walks and a single loaded the bases,
Brady Henke delivered a two-RBI double, scoring
Tate Wischnack and
Kleysen Gabruck to even the score at 4-4.
The Tigers were not giving up and took the lead in the seventh. Gilbert tripled to bring home a run, and a sacrifice fly from
Kyle Liu scored another to make it 5-4. Grubbs then added a solo homer to tie the game at 6-6, giving Campbellsville hope.
Shawnee State answered with a huge eighth inning. A combination of walks, hit-by-pitches, and timely RBI pushed four runs across, giving the Bears a 10-6 lead.
Campbellsville threatened in the ninth inning, but several pinch hitters went down in order, leaving one runner on base. Shawnee State closed out the game with a scoreless frame to secure the 10-6 victory.
