Campbellsville came out of the gates swinging, dominating the early stages of the opening frame. The Tigers allowed only three points from Indiana Tech by the time they reached double digits, with half of Campbellsville's points coming off unforced attacking errors by the Warriors.
Denzel Madrigal and
Ayoub Hamadache kept the gap on the scoreboard in double digits with back-to-back terminal kills assisted by
Alonzo Vega. Following a late exchange of service errors, Campbellsville cruised to a 25-15 first-set victory.
The second set featured intense back-and-forth action between the squads. The score remained tight, but Indiana Tech managed to pull slightly ahead midway through the frame. Although Campbellsville tied the score multiple times, their offensive efforts were not enough to overcome the Warriors. Attacking errors by the Tigers combined with timely aces from Indiana Tech's service line allowed the Warriors to pull away and take the second set 25-17.
Much like the second, the third set began with a narrow gap on the scoreboard, as neither team could hold a significant advantage. Freshman
Savvas Christou found an offensive rhythm as the frame developed, but the Warriors' formidable block at the net stopped the Tigers' opportunities to string together a long scoring run. Indiana Tech seized control late in the set, winning 25-19 to take a 2-1 match lead.
The tension on the court was palpable as the fourth set began. Indiana Tech was looking for a chance to remain alive in the tournament following an earlier loss to Missouri Valley, while Campbellsville sought to force a decisive fifth set. Fueled by clutch kills from
Luke Stracener and Hamadache, the Tigers built a five-point cushion. The Warriors' control at the net with several block assists did not make it easy on Campbellsville, but
Pedro Zavatini sparked the Tigers with insurmountable kills out of the middle to preserve the advantage. An untimely service error by Indiana Tech closed out the 25-18 frame, pushing the match to a tiebreaker.
Campbellsville struggled to contain the Warriors' offense in the opening stages of the final frame, allowing Indiana Tech to reach double digits on the scoreboard quickly. Freshman
Camilo Fernandez and Christou injected the Tigers' offense with some momentum to retaliate as the set unfolded. Zavatini took a strong charge both offensively and defensively to tighten the score, bringing Campbellsville within two points at 12-10 to steal the upper hand. However, an error at the Tigers' service line proved to be their final demise, securing the final point for the Warriors and closing the match with a 15-12 fifth-set defeat for Campbellsville.
