CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — No. 14 Campbellsville University generated 538 yards of offense, threw five touchdown passes, and intercepted three passes Saturday as the Fighting Tigers opened the 2026 season with a 45-14 victory over No. 17 University of Saint Francis at Finley Stadium.
- Justyce Law completed 8 of 21 passes for 204 yards and three touchdowns before Jett Engle went 8 of 12 for 127 yards and two scores. Together, the Campbellsville quarterbacks completed 16 of 33 attempts for 331 yards without an interception.
- Campbellsville averaged 7.6 yards per play and produced touchdown passes of 63 yards to Troy Oliver and 40 yards to Ashton Auker. Oliver finished with three receptions for a game-high 134 yards, an average of 44.7 yards per catch.
- The Tigers paired their 331 passing yards with 207 yards on 38 rushing attempts. Archelaus Smith led the ground game with 92 yards on 11 carries, averaging 8.4 yards per attempt, as Campbellsville finished with 25 first downs.
- Campbellsville held Saint Francis to 273 total yards, including 74 rushing yards on 32 attempts, and stopped the Cougars on all five of their fourth-down tries. The Tigers also recorded three interceptions, two sacks, and six tackles for loss.
- Jaquon Coulter intercepted a pass near Campbellsville's goal line in the third quarter, while interceptions by Seth Woods and Aydan Hardwick helped set up two fourth-quarter touchdown receptions. Campbellsville totaled 65 yards on its three interception returns.
- Oliver, Jaysean Pritchard, Auker, Andre Siler, and Ladamion Hunter each caught a touchdown pass. Oliver, Pritchard, and Auker combined for 276 receiving yards on nine catches.
- Colin Fratus made his only field-goal attempt and converted all six extra points for nine points. Hunter added 48 yards on two punt returns, including a 42-yard return that immediately preceded Auker's first-quarter touchdown.
Campbellsville established control on the opening possession, covering 75 yards before Law found Siler for a 6-yard touchdown. The drive included a 50-yard completion from Law to Oliver on third-and-3, followed by an 11-yard connection with Auker that moved the Tigers to the Saint Francis 6-yard line.
The Tigers' defense then stopped Saint Francis on three of its first four possessions, including a fourth-down stand at the Campbellsville 36. Later in the quarter,
Zmari Bell and
Josh Labelah combined to stop Azariah Wallace on fourth-and-2 at the Campbellsville 6, preserving the shutout.
Campbellsville struck again after Hunter returned a punt 42 yards to the Saint Francis 40. On the next snap, Law connected with Auker for a touchdown, extending the lead to 14-0 with 3:41 remaining in the first quarter.
Fratus added a field goal early in the second quarter to finish a 70-yard Campbellsville possession. After the defense forced another punt, the Tigers moved 83 yards in four plays, with Law finding Oliver for a 63-yard touchdown that pushed the advantage to 24-0.
Saint Francis reached Campbellsville territory on several first-half possessions but failed to score.
Dawson Carson recorded a sack during one drive, and
Brok Sholtes ended another threat by registering a sack on fourth down at the Saint Francis 4 shortly before halftime.
The Cougars broke through when Braylon Morris returned the opening kickoff of the second half 96 yards for a touchdown, trimming Campbellsville's lead to 24-7.
Campbellsville's defense responded as Saint Francis drove inside the Tigers' 10-yard line. Coulter intercepted Aidan Pratt at the Campbellsville 2 and returned the ball 13 yards, ending a 12-play Cougars possession without points.
After an exchange of turnovers, Campbellsville put together a 43-yard touchdown drive. Engle converted fourth-and-goal from the 1 on a quarterback keeper, restoring a 24-point advantage late in the third quarter.
Woods intercepted a Saint Francis pass on the Cougars' ensuing series and returned it 27 yards to the 12. On the second play of the fourth quarter, Engle connected with Hunter for a 10-yard touchdown that made it 38-7.
Hardwick collected Campbellsville's third interception on the next Saint Francis possession, returning it 25 yards to the Cougars' 25. Four plays later, Engle found Pritchard for an 18-yard touchdown on fourth-and-3, giving the Tigers a 45-7 lead with 9:05 remaining.
Saint Francis completed the scoring on Kevin Stanislo's 6-yard touchdown run with 2:55 left, but Campbellsville ran out the remaining time to secure the 45-14 victory.
