CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — No. 14 Campbellsville University amassed 489 yards of offense, recorded five sacks and held Webber International to 210 yards Saturday as the Fighting Tigers earned a 37-0 victory at Finley Stadium.
- The defense delivered a complete-game shutout. Campbellsville limited Webber International to 13 first downs, 210 total yards, and 3.4 yards per play. The Warriors crossed the Tigers' 30-yard line three times, but Campbellsville ended those threats with an interception and two fourth-down stops.
- Justyce Law completed 25 of 33 passes for 357 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 10.8 yards per attempt. He connected with nine receivers and engineered three touchdown drives of at least 78 yards.
- Ashton Auker caught four passes for a game-high 114 yards, including gains of 34 and 67 yards. His 67-yard reception on third-and-10 set up Campbellsville's second touchdown and gave him his first 100-yard receiving performance of the season.
- Campbellsville dominated money downs. The Tigers converted 7 of 11 third-down opportunities (64% success rate) while holding the Warriors to 4 of 14. Webber International also finished 0-for-3 on fourth down.
- The pass rush controlled the pocket. Campbellsville registered five sacks for 30 yards and 7.5 tackles for loss. Johnat. Griffin recorded two sacks for 19 yards, while Zmari Bell, Malachi Campbell, and Dawson Carson added one apiece.
- Elijah Robb scored Campbellsville's first two touchdowns, catching a 17-yard pass before adding a 3-yard rushing score. He finished with 50 yards from scrimmage on eight touches.
- The Tigers sustained drives and spread the production. Campbellsville collected 23 first downs, averaged 7.1 yards per play, and possessed the ball for 31:24. Eleven Tigers caught at least one pass, and Dionte Jones led the rushing attack with 48 yards and a touchdown on four carries.
Webber International advanced into Campbellsville territory on the opening possession, but Bell recorded a sack, and the Tigers forced a punt. Campbellsville answered with an eight-play, 78-yard drive, highlighted by Law's 34-yard completion to Auker. Law finished the possession with a 17-yard touchdown pass to Robb, giving the Tigers a 7-0 lead with 8:06 remaining in the first quarter.
Campbellsville's defense forced another punt before the offense struck quickly. Facing third-and-10 from its own 30, Law connected with Auker for 67 yards to the Webber International 3. Robb scored on the following snap to extend the lead to 14-0 with 1:59 left in the quarter.
The Warriors reached the Campbellsville 31 early in the second quarter, but consecutive incompletions on third and fourth down ended the possession. Webber International threatened again later in the period before
Joc Williams intercepted Trent Grotjan at the Campbellsville 15.
Law converted the takeaway into points by directing an 85-yard touchdown drive. He completed a 28-yard pass to
Andre Siler and moved the Tigers across midfield before finding
Landon Yates for a 37-yard touchdown with 2:12 remaining in the half. The score sent Campbellsville into the break with a 21-0 advantage.
Campbellsville opened the second half with a methodical 15-play possession that consumed 7:28. The Tigers converted a third-and-19 with a 25-yard pass from Law to
Troy Oliver and later moved inside the Webber International 10 before
Colin Fratus made a 30-yard field goal, extending the lead to 24-0.
The defense followed with another fourth-down stop at the Campbellsville 44. Jones then opened the ensuing possession with a 29-yard run and added an 11-yard gain on third-and-2 before scoring from 5 yards out on the first play of the fourth quarter. The six-play, 56-yard drive pushed the margin to 31-0.
Griffin recorded his first sack on Webber International's next series, dropping the quarterback for a 9-yard loss and helping force a punt.
Jett Engle then guided Campbellsville 53 yards, completing a 21-yard pass to
Jaysean Pritchard before finding
Jake Crump for a 5-yard touchdown with 6:07 remaining.
Griffin added his second sack on the next possession, and Campbellsville preserved the shutout on Webber International's final drive. The Warriors reached the Tigers' 21, but a fourth-down incompletion with nine seconds remaining completed the 37-0 victory.
Campbellsville will travel to face Thomas University at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, in Thomasville, Georgia.
